Split a PDF
Send only the chapter that matters, separate the receipts of a whole year, or pull one page out of a long contract.
Without an account your documents are kept for 24 hours; sign in with Google, LinkedIn or GitHub to keep them.
How to do it
- 1
Upload the PDF
From your computer or phone.
- 2
Choose how
By ranges (for example 1-3, 7, 10-12), every so many pages, or one file per page. To keep just a few pages, use Extract pages.
- 3
Download the parts
Each part is its own document, in the same folder as the original.
What's different in aval
Each part gets checked
Every part goes through the inspector like any other document.
The original stays
Splitting doesn't touch it: it's still there, whole.
It checks every document
When you upload it, aval looks for blank pages, upside-down scans, pages without text and empty signature fields, and offers the fix.
Your file stays with aval
It's processed on our servers and stored encrypted with your account's key. It isn't sent to other services, shown ads, or used to train AI.
Questions
Can I remove pages instead of splitting?
Yes: Delete pages takes them out and leaves a new version, which you can undo.
What's the difference between splitting and extracting?
Splitting cuts the whole PDF into parts. Extracting makes one new PDF with only the pages you choose.
Guides about this
How to compress a PDF to fit an upload limitOther tools
- Merge PDF Combine up to 20 PDFs into one, in the order you choose. The originals stay as they were.
- Compress PDF Make a PDF lighter for email or an upload form. Three levels, an estimate before you start, and the original is kept.
- PDF to Word Turn a PDF into an editable Word document. If it's a scan, aval recognizes the text first.
